I had the pleasure of staying at Bedfriends for a few days during my trip to Cozumel and really enjoyed it. The hostel itself was charming and had an enjoyable atmosphere and great staff (Edir was diligent in always making sure we were comfortable and enjoying every moment of the stay). The hostel provides towels and also offers a laundry service, which was very convenient.
I went to Cozumel to dive with a friend, so paying for a hotel room was not worth it, we arrived the night before and had to leave the hotel by 8 am, so a hostel seemed a great choice. We did nail it with this place, beautiful, cozy, clean, full of friendly people, even that we slept in a 16-bed dorm, it was surprisingly quiet1, I JUST LOVED staying here!
This is definitely one of my favorite hostels in the world. Very relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff with their cozumel atv tour recommendations, and the food and drinks are better than you could expect from a hostel (I recommend the tuna and the Mojitos!) Rooms are nothing special but clean and with air con. It’s also a great place to arrange your diving in Cozumel.
They work with Scuba Mao, maybe not the lowest but reasonable prices, it’s the excellent diving school that brings you to the best diving spots and only works with certified instructors and equipment (special compliments to the beautiful Nichan, very relaxed and funny guy but a total professional once it comes to diving!)
I was quite nervous for my discover scuba dive, but my instructor gave me the confidence to go on, and after my first dive, I immediately signed up to get my open water PADI. A great plus is that almost everyone in this hostel comes here for diving (not much else to do in Cozumel) so you often dive with people you’ve met in the shared garden. If you go diving in Cozumel, go to this place.
Really nice Hostel at Cozumel. Excellent facilities, spotless with good and cheap bistro and bar and incredibly friendly staff. When I had a problem with the local bank of the city, one of the guys made a real effort to help me out with it, and in the end, we could fix anything. Without him I would have been lost, so thank you a lot Edir!
Everyone was so friendly and helpful here – they could not have done more. If we come back this way, we know where we will be staying and who we will be diving with! They have a dive school at the hostel called cozudive, and we would highly recommend them as well!
