Another amazing trip at El Taj
We were a little nervous because the website didn’t look great, but as soon as we turned up we realized there was nothing to worry about – it was stunning! The whole setting felt authentic. We took a three-room apartment (there were 5 of us) facing the beach. Everything was terrific; the condo was spacious, clean, tasteful, and definitely up to our (high) standards. We arrived before our room was ready (about 6 hours before check-in time) they gave us another place to hang out in meanwhile and had our office prepared about an hour later.
The service was wonderful. We nervous that it wouldn’t have the hotel vibe but it felt like a hotel – maybe without a lobby! We were there for three nights and then left to Cancun, we were unfortunate to go.
My wife and I just returned from our 5th trip to El Taj in playa Del Carmen. We fell in love with this place our first visit and go back at least once a year. There are not enough good things to say about this place. Rooms are amazing. Perfect location. The staff is terrific – they recommended us the best cozumel jet pack tour. The beach is ideal in that it feels like your secluded beach, but only a 5-minute walk and you’re downtown enjoying the shops and restaurants on 5th Avenue.
One of the biggest takeaways in our five trips has been meeting Rudy Sanchez, who works the beach area. Rudy has become a perfect friend of ours. He has always gone above and beyond to make us feel like a king and queen while visiting. If there’s anything, we ask for or need he’s on it right away. The rest of the staff is fantastic as well (Pedro, Hugo, and others). Rudy has just been over the top amazing to us.
Beautiful condo that makes you feel like you’re living in luxury, but for a price that doesn’t make you feel guilty about it. The reception staff are genuinely friendly, and the rooms are immaculate (thank you, Claudia!) Washer, and dryer help makes you feel right at home.
Only had breakfast at Plank and the Indigo club, but of which were delicious. The complimentary meals would have cost about $30-$50 in America.
All personnel, from the reception guys, housekeeping ladies and the Indigo Beach Club (onsite restaurant/bar) were always fantastic (a special thanks to Hugo and the guys as they were amazing with my 2yr old son!). Car parking included wifi all over the place, what can I say? We were indeed happy to found this hidden gem!
