Since her arrival in Music City in 1970, Dianne Sherrill has lit
up stages with her powerful vocal delivery and dynamic stage
presence. With appearances on HeeHaw, TNN (The Nashville
Network), the Ryman Auditorium, and the Grand Ole Opry House,
Dianne quickly became a highly respected talent among the
Nashville Country Music Scene. For years Dianne headlined as a
seasoned favorite at The Nashville Palace. Her peers referred
to her as the "Entertainer's Entertainer."
Dianne was living her dream, but at the same time, there was a
gnawing in her soul - something was still missing. She found
herself reaching for drugs and alcohol to fill the emptiness and
dull the pain. While these cunning substances did seem to help
at first, it eventually became clear that they were not her
friend. They wanted to control and destroy her life. Her
"dream" was becoming a nightmare.
On February 12, 1992, at the darkest moment of her life, God's
brilliant light of love shined on Dianne. She was reminded of
her roots of growing up in Alabama. Her dad had been a
high-spirited Christian who had always told Dianne (and anyone
else who would listen) that, "It's in the Blood!" She finally
"saw the light" - God was her missing piece.
Since that life changing night, Dianne has been living "clean
and serene." She has dedicated her life and her talents to her
best friend - Jesus Christ - and He has made all the difference!
"God gave me a new heart; it's washed in the Blood and that's
where I'm singing from now, Dianne firmly says. "I take
this stand for Christ without fear. I want to share what I have
been given. I'm just like my Daddy, I guess. I will sing about
the genuine love of Jesus Christ to everybody who will
listen."
She has come this far by faith, and Good Lord willing, the rest
of the journey will be with Him, too. One quality never changes
about Dianne...she lives to give. She is a living witness to
the grace of God.
